Kayaking

Kayaking is the use of a kayak for moving across water. It is distinguished from canoeing by the sitting position of the paddler and the number of blades on the paddle. On our Tours we have more canoeing activities than kayaking.

The Orange River is the biggest river in South Africa. It forms the border between South Africa and Namibia. Our Kayaking or canoeing activities on the Orange River runs for a minimum of 10 km. Canoeing Tours can also be arranged for days from different lodges along the Orange River.

In the Okavango Delta Kayaking here is a lot different. Instead of paddling alone, you have a pooler pooling the wooden canoe. The traditional canoe is known as the ‘mokoro’. The wooden canoe is the means of transport used to navigate the channels of water to get to the islands.
