Namibia desert experience comprises of the fascinating dunes of Sossusvlei, the skeleton coast and Etosha wildlife. Namibia lies in south west of Africa on the Atlantic ocean with its coastline running over 2 000 km. The coastline lies in the desert as well giving travelers a real reason to love the warm weather and the cold waters of the sea.
The diversity of ecotourism in Namibia makes it one of the favorite tourist destinations in the region. The true desert and probably the oldest in the World still has abundance of life and wildlife.
The rusty reddish sand dunes of Sossusvlei adds unimagined beauty to the openness of this desert. The Fish-river canyon the second biggest canyon after the Grand canyon stretches for 160 km all the way to Ais Ais. The hot springs in the desert would seem a bonus to the all fun of the desert alone.
Further inland the Brandberg mountains stands so high with the White-lady painting of the Khoisan on the caves. This gives an insight into the artistic talent of the khoisan as they went on their hunting expeditions.
The City of Windhoek, Walvis Bay and Swakopmund offers diverse culture embedded in the history of long years of colonialism. The efforts to maintain the vibrant culture of the different groups is another of Namibia’s success stories in tourism
The popular ‘must-to-do’ in Namibia is of course the Desert experience, the warm weather and the beaches. The Fish-river canyon hiking takes 4-5 days usually in winter. This is for real hikers.
Swakopmund is the City of all activities from sky-diving to Quad-biking on the dunes and much more. The Petrified forest on the other hand adds to the geological aspect of Tourism in Namibia. With the Etosha pan and the Brandberg mountains.
Perhaps top of the list is safari in Etosha national park as Africa is well known for conservation programs.
